MAD HATTER ROSE (6) was sent out long odds last time but charged out of the boxes with a fast early sectional and gave a sight before being swallowed up late, finishing a 1.3 lengths fourth (24.56) over 435m at Sale. Should be thereabouts. PAW RIVAL (8) finished in the minors last start over the 400m at Geelong but ran a strong 22.59 last start. Bold showing expected again.
