Santa Anita Park Race 7

American Pharoah S. Presented By Dk Horse Stakes

Prize Money: $431,034

HUGHES (2) is a talented type yet to taste defeat after three runs, the latest over 1408m in the G1 Del Mar Futurity (Dirt). Has further upside and expected to continue winning form. NET PAR (3) finished 6 lengths behind the winner in second over 1207m in stakes class at Del Mar (Dirt) last start after lifting strongly to score two back. Should be prominent from the outset. Will prove tough to beat. IMPERIAL HONOR (4) impressed when successful as favourite on debut over 1106m at Del Mar (Dirt) three-and-a-half weeks ago. Has upside and is among the chances again. EMANCIPATE (5) raced on the speed from the outset and went to score by 2.5 lengths last time over 1207m at Del Mar (Dirt). Not to be discounted.

Before that favourite; won by 7 len in the G3 Best Pal Stakes at Del Mar on August 8 over 1207m defeating Phone Booth carrying 54.5kg at $2.50. Plenty to like about his prospects.
