Turffontein Race 2

Betway Summer Cup 28 November Mdn Plate (F & M)

Prize Money: $9,624

SATISFIED (4) brings the most reliable exposed form, having gone under by just under a length at Vaal after being well-supported near the top of betting. Her 1200m record, with two placings from three tries, gives her a solid base and she looks ready to convert. NIXIE GIRL (8) is the obvious danger after a half-length debut second at Vaal at long odds; that performance reads well for a lightly raced filly with natural improvement available. THE BACHELORETTE (3) returns off a two-month break after a sound fourth over 1000m at Vaal and has the trainer-jockey profile to press the main pair, though she still has to prove herself at this distance. CHEROKEE ROSE (6) debuts for Mike & Mathew De Kock with a trainer debut record that commands respect, and her family has produced winners around this sort of trip, making her a genuine first-start place threat.

Has been safely held in three starts, most recently eighth at Vaal in a FM MPLTE when beaten just over seven lengths by Go Gucci Go at big odds. The run prior was another midfield-to-rear result, beaten five and a half lengths by Treasure State when unwanted in the market. Barrier one can help her race handier, but she has already been behind Satisfied and Nixie Girl and looks more a minor-money chance than a winning threat.

Expected Settling Position: Midfield

Comes off a sixth at this track in a FM MPLTE over 1450m, beaten over 11 lengths by Empress Of Peace despite firming from bigger odds. She was also held to fifth at this venue the run prior, beaten seven lengths by Thorn Bird after being unwanted in the market. Her two previous 1200m attempts have brought no placing, so the setup is not enough to offset the plain recent figures.

Returns from a two-month freshening after a solid fourth at Vaal over 1000m, beaten just over two lengths by Time To Fire when near the top of betting. She is second-up now and draws to get every chance, while the Sean Tarry and Craig Zackey combination adds confidence. The 1200m record is still unproven, but that latest effort gives her a clear winning platform.

Went very close at Vaal last start, finishing second in a FM MPLTE and beaten just under a length by Treasure State after being well-supported near the top of betting. Her previous 1400m run at Scottsville was plain, but the return to 1200m is a positive given she has placed twice from three tries at the trip. Race-fit and knocking on the door, she sets the standard to beat.

Worked into fourth at Vaal last start in a MPLTE, beaten just under five lengths by God's Country on rain-affected ground, but she started at big odds and still has to back it up. Her previous run at this track was much weaker, finishing last and well held behind Elusive Dragon. With no placing from three goes around 1200m, she has a fair bit to find.

Makes her debut for Mike & Mathew De Kock, whose first-starter record is solid with 11 wins and 27 placings from 65 runners. She is by Danon Platina and is a full sister to Versace Onthetrack, a three-time winner who placed on debut and won twice at Turffontein Standside. With Callan Murray booked, she profiles as a realistic place hope at her first race start.

Debuts for Mike & Mathew De Kock and has some pedigree interest, with Famous Lady a G3 placegetter and Military Command a two-time winner among the family. The stable's first-starter numbers are sound, but she lacks race experience and is rated behind the better-exposed runners here. A positive debut would not shock, but this looks a learning assignment.

Made an excellent start at Vaal, finishing second in a FM MPLTE and beaten half a length by Go Gucci Go despite starting at long odds. She has already placed at this distance and should take benefit from that first race-day experience. A R30,000 buy, she brings the most upside among the raced runners and is a strong winning chance with normal improvement.

Returns from a three-month break after ending her last campaign last at Turffontein Standside, beaten ten lengths by King Solomon when near the top of betting but easing. Her debut seventh was more competitive, beaten just over five lengths by Hoc Est Vita, and the apprentice claim is a help. Even so, she remains unplaced from two starts and must improve markedly fresh.

Faces the starter for the first time for Sean Tarry and is by Vercingetorix, a combination that has produced 75 wins and 170 placings from 402 runners. The family includes Worldcraft, a two-time winner over shorter trips, while same-trainer siblings Khateera and Billy Spellbound give the profile some depth. With no race form, she is a measured place chance rather than one to declare.
