PRIMERA ESTRELLA (4) Couldn't keep the momentum going throughout when 3rd last start at Kyoto. Expecting to settle positively. Strong claims. KAFUJI CANISTEL (9) Solid run on the pace before weakening to finish 3rd last run at Kyoto. Has the early speed to burn across from the wide alley. Can measure up to this company. LEGAME FORTE (1) Overtook some late when 5th last run at Kyoto and having second career run. Drawn the rails. Can win. ECORO WALD (5) Fresh after a spell. Managed to run into 3rd last run at Sapporo. Will be motoring home late. Has to be strongly considered.

Debuted with a fair fifth in a Kyoto NEWCOMER over 2000m, beaten just over five lengths behind Gold Krieger after being near the top of an open market. The final effort was only moderate, but that experience should bring him on and the class drop helps. Coming back to an untried 1800m is the query, though his profile still gives him a strong platform to win.

Kept working when fourth on debut in a Tokyo Dirt NEWCOMER over 1600m, beaten six lengths by Vento Serale after starting at long odds. That was a sound enough first outing, and the class drop gives him a better chance to build on it. He is untried around 1800m, so the extra ground has to be handled before he can threaten the main chances.

Was well beaten on debut in a Tokyo Dirt NEWCOMER over 1600m, finishing 13th behind Vento Serale after starting big odds and making no headway. The class drop is some help, but there was no clear excuse in that first run and he now tackles 1800m for the first time. A sharp step forward is required to turn that into a genuine placing claim.

Improved last start when third at Kyoto Dirt, beaten three lengths by Mars Eclair after finishing strongly from an outside-chance profile in betting. That was a better effort than his fifth at Hanshin, where he led narrowly before being swamped. He has placed twice from four tries around 1800m, and race fitness gives him a solid winning chance.

Returns from a three-month break after ending his first campaign with a third at Sapporo Dirt, beaten four and a half lengths by Temu Fire despite being unwanted in the market. That was a much sounder run than his debut, where he was never in the picture. Still lightly raced and proven capable of finishing in the money, he appeals more as a place hope than a firm win choice.

Backs up quickly after a plain debut at this track, finishing tenth and beaten over 16 lengths by Copano Kirakira after settling miles back. He was big odds there and failed to improve when the race developed, leaving little to recommend from exposed form. The short turnaround does not look enough by itself to bridge the gap to the better-credentialled runners.

Returns from a three-month break after finishing 11th at Chukyo Dirt, beaten over 11 lengths by Smart Potion at big odds in his final run before the spell. He had shown some late work when fifth two starts earlier, but that was still a nine-and-a-half-length defeat. With three unplaced runs and no race at around 1800m, he has plenty to prove fresh.

Has been well held in both starts, most recently eighth at Nakayama, beaten over 13 lengths by Handsome after settling a long way back and making no impression. His debut at Niigata was similar, beaten over 14 lengths after conceding a big start. Third-up fitness is a small plus, but the exposed form leaves him chasing a major turnaround.

Lifted notably from debut when third at Kyoto Dirt, beaten just over four lengths by Hoshio Mite Runna after being sent out at long odds. His first run at Hanshin was plain, but the second-start placing showed much more substance and he has already placed at this distance. Third-up, race fit and with weight relief, he looks the runner with the clearest winning profile.

Comments

Finished fifth on debut in a Kyoto Dirt NEWCOMER, but the margin tells the story as he was beaten out of sight by Dera Sugoigan after travelling in touch and only working home fairly. He had some market respect as an outside chance, and the class drop is a small positive. Even so, he must produce a far stronger finish to make an impact.

Expected Settling Position: Midfield
