Alice Springs Race 3

Steely Sales Hcp

Prize Money: $30,000

GOLDEN TUNES (3) has thrived since being bought out of South Australia late last season, and he is now unbeaten in 4 starts on this track since resuming from a spell. He tries Open class for the first time, but with that step up, he drops 3kg. Clearly on top again for us. BLACK ZOUS (2) was too classy fresh up for his BM76 rivals here 3 weeks ago over 1200m. His second-up record is not as good, but in this field with the advantage of the pole position, he should give the top pick plenty to think about. BAHAMA BAY (1) is a very competitive gelding with 6 wins on the track, including a couple over the trip. He has a good draw and should be right in the finish again. BOY BIG (4) was no hope last start when missing the kick, but he drops 7kg for this and is worth another chance. VALIMI (5) resumes from a spell and has had more time to acclimatise after failing to show his best in 4 starts here last season. Check the market. DYER (6) won fresh here but then failed last start. Include.

Second-up. First-up after four months scored a big 4 len win in a Bm76 at this track on October 10 over 1200m defeating Limited Risk carrying 57kg at $9. Previously second-up 5th of 8 in a 0 - 70 at this track on December 6 over 1100m, 1.75 len behind Bahama Bay carrying 57kg at $4.60. Only needs to hold that form to be winning again. Fitter and looks one of the key chances.

On a four run winning streak. Last start favourite; won by 4.5 len in a 0 - 70 at this track on October 4 over 1100m defeating Verbosity carrying 57kg at $1.40. Before that favourite; won by 6 len in a 0 - 64 at this track on September 12 over 1000m defeating Miss Top Gun carrying 58kg at $1.30. Rates highly. Finds the ideal scenario and should be in the finish again.
