PRINCESS RIBBON (2) Put a gap on the rest when winning by 6L last run around here and was a debutant last start. Has a positive draw. Will be competitive. TAKARABUNE (3) Had a break from racing and returns to competition. Blitzed its rivals when winning by 8L last start around here and having second race start. Worth consideration. KYOEI AKAGI (5) Came in 3rd last run at the track. Should jump out and bowl along. In good form since resuming from a spell. Looks to be value. KEN BLACK (6) Tidy effort when 3rd last start at this track and honest performer putting a tidy record together. Each way bet at a price.

Comments

Won on debut at Funabashi over 1000m, scoring by four lengths after settling just off the lead and finishing strongly in a small field. He was heavily supported into very short odds-on territory, so the market expected that result. The concern is that he has not raced around 1400m before, and this asks for more substance against stronger exposed profiles.

Returns off a six-week let-up after making a strong debut statement at this track, winning over 1200m by six lengths as a dominant odds-on favourite. She controlled the race and extended cleanly, with Tsubasa Sasagawa staying aboard. The new 1400m task is the obvious next question, but her first-up authority gives her a genuine place chance with upside.

Comments

Returns from a four-month break after winning on debut at this track over 1200m by eight lengths, having been heavily backed into very short odds-on territory. That was a dominant front-running performance, and the leading jockey-trainer profile adds interest. Fresh at 1400m for the first time, he has enough talent to be respected without being the safest winning option.

Returns off a six-week freshening in excellent form, having placed in all three starts and finished second to Purple Fog at this track last start, beaten three and a half lengths. He was also second to the same winner the start prior after working home past weakening rivals. Proven at this track and distance, he has the right profile to be a major winning player.

Bounced back well when third to Actuel over 1200m at this track, beaten just under three lengths after being run down late, and he was again near the top of betting. The previous tenth behind Purple Fog was plain, and his 1400m record is still unplaced, but two wins and two placings from six starts at this venue show his best form is good enough to win this.

Has improved through two runs this campaign, finishing third to Advance Miyagi over 1600m at this track last start after being run down late. His fourth behind Purple Fog prior was sound enough in a deeper field, and he returns to a distance where he has already won. With two wins and two placings from five starts, he looks a solid place hope with winning claims if he lifts late.

Comes off a narrow win at this track, holding a slim lead and finding enough to score by a nose when near the top of betting. That was a clear turnaround from his debut, when he finished a distant last over 1600m behind Shonan Harbor. He is one from one at this distance, so he has some claims, but this demands another step forward.

Was last and finished well held behind Advance Miyagi over 1600m at this track last start, giving away a big start in the lane and never getting into the race at big odds. His debut win over this sort of trip was by six lengths in a small field, but the latest effort was too plain to overlook. A sharp rebound is required to trouble the main chances.
