VERN GOSDIN (4) improved last time out, finishing 4 lengths from the winner in third at the end of 1106m at Santa Anita after being in the firing line on the corner. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. SMOKEM WICKED (1) finished second last start over 1106m at Santa Anita (Dirt) to make it four minor placings from eight runs. Has been in the frame at both appearances at this circuit. Ideally placed to open his account. OLYMPIAN THIRST (3) gave away a big start at the top of the straight last start and finished 18 lengths from the winner in eighth over 1609m at Santa Anita Turf (Turf). Worth including in this suitable contest. SIP SIP CHARLY (5) has started twice, missing the frame on debut then doing a better job to finish second last time, beaten 7 lengths over 1106m at Los Alamitos (Dirt). Further improvement to come.
