Doomben Race 3

Drinkwise (Bm70)

Prize Money: $38,000

DRAW ATTENTION (3) is the one to beat after wins at the Sunny Coast and Gold Coast, the latest a soft-ground BM62 demolition job as favourite. Steps up in grade again but gets a key booking in Thompson. Can go on with the job. HOT MAJESTY (1) poses the strongest challenge, having won a CL2 at Ipswich last start following a close BM78 fourth behind Becamo at Eagle Farm. The new 2200m trip and 60kg weight are considerations, but Youngberry's 2kg claim helps. CASTELLO GRANDE (4) comes from Saturday company at Eagle Farm, finishing just under a length from the winner on heavy ground after a wide trip. Does his best work late, so watch for him if the early tempo is strong. WHATJEUDOIN' (2) also holds genuine appeal as a proven track-and-trip winner returning to a more suitable distance.

Comments

Kept trying when third to Trusty Bandit at Eagle Farm over 2443m last start, although he was beaten just over four lengths after being near the top of an open market. The run prior was a nose win over Ayasaki at this track, and his record around 2200m is sound with three wins and two placings from ten starts. Proven at 2200m and profiles as a genuine place hope.

Dominant at Gold Coast last start, winning a BM62 by just over eight lengths as favourite on soft ground, and that followed a BM60 win at Sunshine Coast when odds-on. The rise to BM70 is the obvious next test, but she is race fit, proven at the distance and one from one on wet tracks. Class rise is there, but she brings the best current form.

Comes off a strong second in Saturday company at Eagle Farm, beaten just under a length on heavy ground after covering ground and picking up impressively. That followed a fifth at Sunshine Coast when near the top of betting and beaten just over two lengths. Backs up quickly and looks a live place chance from a kinder setup.

Was close enough at Eagle Farm last start but failed to quicken, finishing seventh and beaten eight and a half lengths as an outside chance in the betting. The run prior showed his better side when he beat Cigar Man by a long neck, working over the top after being held up. Quick back-up helps, yet he looks an each-way hope only.

Backs up after five days following a last placing in a BM58 at Casino, beaten three and a half lengths after being kept safe enough in an open market. Two back she was fourth in a BM60 at Gold Coast Poly, beaten eight lengths after racing wide. Weight relief and her 2200m record give some support, but the rise to BM70 leaves her with plenty to find. Unlikely to threaten this time.
